Walking Itinerary

Day 1:
Welcome! Your guide will escort you to the Bronze Hotel in Oludeniz for pre-dinner welcome drinks and introductions all round.

Day 2:
After breakfast we’ll drive to neighbouring Kaya Village for a walk through the deserted cobbled streets. Refreshments will give us energy for a beautiful warm-up walk over the hills to Oludeniz’s famed ‘Blue Lagoon’. There’s even time for a swim if you’re game.

Day 3:
Today we tackle a steep ascent before dropping down into the bay of Turunc with incredible views out over the gulf of Fethiye. We’ll then cruise to Fethiye marina enjoying on-board refreshments on our way. We’ll have a chance to explore Sovalye Island before heading back for dinner at Bronze.

Day 4:
After all that warming up we can start walking the Lycian Way. The track follows the in the footsteps of the ancients from Fethiye to just short of Antalya. The first segment takes in picturesque coastal villages, skirts the Baba Mountain, passes goat enclosures and explores ancient sites. It’s a walk that will reveal the most sensational views! Well worth it.

Day 5:
A less strenuous day. We’ll drive east along the coast to the fishing villages of Kalkan and Kas. En-route we’ll visit the site of Xanthos with its gruesome history, ruins and artifacts. On our way back we’ll stop at the long, sandy beach of Patara for some beachcombing and visit pretty coastal resorts. Later, we’ll enjoy dinner at Bronze.

Day 6:
Today we’ll set out to see the ruins of Afkule, a Byzantine monastery carved into the cliffs overlooking the sea. After plenty of exploring we’ll descend walk through forest to Darbogaz bay where we’ll be met by a boat and BBQ! The afternoon will include a leisurely cruise to St Nicholas Island, sightseeing and a visit to underwater ruins.

Day 7:
It’s off to the ancient market town of Telmessos, now Fethiye. We’ll walk up numerous steps to the rock tombs of the Lycian kings and enjoy amazing views over Fethiye and the 12 Islands. There’s time for shopping after lunch and an early return to our hotel gives you a chance to indulge in a well-earned Turkish Bath. An oil massage post-bath is highly recommended and means you’ll be squeaky clean for your return home!

Day 8:
After a final breakfast together, it’s time to say goodbye to your new-found friends. We’re sure you’ll return with lots of shared experiences that will give you a plenty to chat about in the future.
