Eating Out:
You are rarely more than 50 meters away from a restaurant or side walk food vendor. Most economical and dependable are the Noodle, Curry and Rice shops and the night markets. China town for Chinese food while Bangrak and Pahurat are known for good Indian food. Siam Square, Silom and Sukhumvit have higher priced restaurants. Do not miss the experience of the Sea food restaurants.

Silk and Fabrics, Fashion Clothing, Jewellery, Precious stones, Handicrafts, Books, Electronic goods.
Night Life:
From live pop music -rock, country & western, Thai pop and jazz to be found in small bars and mega discos. Hotels often have up-to-date music and traditional Thai instrumental music & dance.
Places of Interest:
Temples and Grand Royal Palace, Floating Market Rose Garden, Klongs of Thonburi (Venice of the East), Ayuntthaya and Sukhothai Ancient capital of Siam, River cruises, River Kwai historic visit, cultural pursuits in drama decorative arts, Chinese and Indian market districts.

EU nationals require a valid passport, visa not required for a stay up to 30 days. Other nationals please contact the Royal Thai Embassy.
Currency:
The Unit of currency is the Baht. 1 Baht = 100 satangs. With the exchange rate at around 66.68 Thailand Baht to the sterling pound. (Nov 2003).

Cost of Living:
Comparing with Europe prices are exceptionally low e.g.: 400 Baht - 500 Baht per day life can be quite comfortable.
